On 19th May 2024 Pymmes Park became the scene of the incredible celebration “Day of the Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture”! The event was attended by more than 500 people who enjoyed the performances presented by 125 dancers and singers of traditional Bulgarian folk music. Numerous stalls with hand-made traditional Bulgarian clothes and objects delighted the attendees, who wished to touch the authenticity of centuries-old Bulgarian traditions.

        Throughout the day, people from the Bulgarian society, as well as friends from all over the world, had fun together, filling the whole park with cheerful laughter and smiles. Attendees were also able to benefit from health advice which was provided by specialists from NHS.

       The event was graced by the Mayor of Enfield – Mohammad Islam – who congratulated The Bulgarian community for their celebration and joined the traditional Bulgarian dance called “horo”. “Day of the Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture” was organized with the support of Bulgarian Centre for Social Integration and Culture, Edmonton Community Partnership, Bulgarian Folk, Traditions and Culture and North Central London Integrated Care Board.
