About Edmonton Community Partnership (ECP)
The Edmonton Community Partnership (ECP) was established in 2011 by a group of local schools coming together to address the unique challenges facing our shared communities. Since then, we’ve developed and delivered a wide range of local projects designed to meet the complex needs within Edmonton – offering vital support to both our schools and the wider community. Our work spans everything from parenting support and counselling for vulnerable children to after-school enrichment, adult language classes, and kids’ cooking clubs. We also provide welfare advice and guidance to families. Whether it’s showcasing young people’s talents through creative performances or offering practical help to parents, everything we do is focused on helping our community thrive and achieve its full potential.

VISION
Guided by Purpose, Driven by Values! These values guide everything we do –
from our planning and partnerships to our day-to-day work:

DIGNITY
Treating everyone with kindness and respect

INCLUSION
Creating a community where everyone belongs

COLLABORATION
Working together to achieve more

EMPOWERMENT
Co-creating opportunities for positive change, especially for the children and young people in our schools
OUR MISSION
JOIN US in our mission to encourage collaboration and create lasting impact in Enfield and beyond to build STRONGER COMMUNITIES!

Making a Difference in Edmonton
Edmonton is a community where many residents face significant challenges. We see high levels of deprivation, new immigrants grappling with social isolation, a concerning child poverty rate of 53% (well above the national average of 21%), and ongoing issues related to youth violence. This means many in our community need extra support to access the opportunities they rightly deserve.
ECP’s projects and initiatives are designed to bring people together and equip them with the tools they need to thrive. We have strong connections with local partner organisations, including Enfield Council, the police, and many other community and voluntary groups. We’re continuously seeking new ways to make a tangible difference in the lives of local people.

SAFEGUARDING and ECP
Edmonton Community Partnership operates with a child and young person-centred approach. It is the commitment of the organisation to deliver its activities and programmes with the welfare and safety of all children and young people at the centre of all design and delivery.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding: A Child-Centred Approach
Edmonton Community Partnership operates with a child and young person-centred approach. It is the commitment of the organisation to deliver its activities and programmes with the welfare and safety of all children and young people at the centre of all design and delivery.
Edmonton Community Partnership has a legal and moral responsibility to implement procedures that provide a duty of care of all children and young people and to safeguard their wellbeing and protect them from abuse or poor practice on any grounds.
Edmonton Community Partnership appreciates that its work with young people living in areas of deprivation requires that it to take a contextualised approach to safeguarding. This means acknowledging the extra risks posed to young people due to the community they live in and social factors impacting upon their life. More information about contextualised safeguarding can be found at the link at the bottom of this page.
Our Guiding Principles
Edmonton Community Partnership’s Safeguarding approach is guided by the following principles:
- The welfare and safety of children and young people (under 18 years of age) is the primary concern.
- Edmonton Community Partnership aims to ensure that regardless of age, gender, religion or beliefs, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation or socio-economic background, all children:
- Have a positive and enjoyable experience of all school based and community based activities in a safe and child-centred environment
- Are safe and protected from any harm whilst participating in a sporting or other Edmonton Community Partnership activity
Edmonton Community Partnership acknowledges that some children, including disabled children and young people or those from ethnic minority communities, can be particularly vulnerable and accepts the responsibility to take reasonable and appropriate steps to ensure their welfare.
It is the responsibility of the child protection experts to determine whether the safety and welfare of a child or young person is at risk, but Edmonton Community Partnership views it is everyone’s responsibility to be alert and report any concerns.
Safeguarding and the Edmonton Community Partnership Network
Edmonton Community Partnership expects any organization operating within the network and delivering Edmonton Community Partnership programmes to meet a basic set of safeguarding standards. These standards are set out to any organization wishing to join the Edmonton Community Partnership network, and organizations must demonstrate how they meet these basic safeguarding standards.
In addition, it is also Edmonton Community Partnership’s role to support organizations by signposting them to resources and expertise that can help them to develop their safeguarding work.
