Art Project
Young and old came together to produce art pieces celebrating diversity in our vibrant community.
Funded by Celebrate England Big Lottery funding the Celebrating Diverse Edmonton project is an intergenerational project bringing children and older people together to celebrate the diversity of their local area through Art. A number of workshops, run by local community art organisation Art Start in schools and community hubs in the Edmonton area, involved up to 300 participants where they were supported to produce their own piece of visual art reflecting their view of the local area.
All works of art are then showcased at an exhibition at Ridge Avenue Community Library for public viewing. A special celebratory event organised by participants is held to launch the month-long exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public so local people can visit and celebrate the works of art whilst also paying tribute to the diversity of Edmonton.
