Forest Schools
Beyond the Classroom: Nature’s Classroom Awaits.
Discovering Nature: Our Forest School Programme
Forest School offers a truly immersive outdoor experience, giving pupils the chance to connect with nature, develop new skills, and learn outside of a traditional classroom environment.
Not all children have access to a garden or a safe green space. Especially since the pandemic, schools have increasingly prioritized spending time outdoors due to the proven benefits for both physical and mental wellbeing. Research also shows that some children who may struggle in a conventional classroom can truly thrive in this environment, often showing improvements in their behavior, communication, and motor skills.
What Happens at Forest School?
Our dedicated Forest School practitioner typically spends one day per week in a school for six weeks, working with two to four small groups. Depending on the age group, activities can include:
- Building dens and swings
- Collecting leaves
- Observing local wildlife
- Creating nature-inspired artwork
- Reading stories
- Planting bulbs
