#SkillsForLife
Kickstarting Careers for Young Adults
#SkillsForLife
We’re tackling youth unemployment head-on with our new #SkillsForLife programme. This initiative offers essential work skills, training, work experience/placements, and crucial personal development and mentoring to help young people thrive.
The impact of recent economic challenges has hit young adults especially hard. Evidence shows that the percentage increase of people aged 16-24 who lost their jobs during the pandemic was more than double that of those over 25. This age group was also among the first to be placed on the government’s furlough scheme.
Our Mission: Empowering Futures
As part of ECP’s lifelong learning strategy, the #SkillsForLife project will equip 20 unemployed and disadvantaged young adults aged 16-24, who are currently Not in Employment, Education, or Training (NEET) and live in Edmonton/Enfield, with the tools and opportunities they need to re-enter the labour market.
Participants will follow a specialised training and mentoring program through Work Works Training Solutions (WWTS). The program is designed to significantly improve their employability skills, soft skills, develop sector-specific knowledge, boost health & wellbeing, and build the confidence, knowledge, and skills required to actively search and apply for employment.
